Ask…the lesson I learned from my 10yo daughter

My daughter this morning: I want a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch. Would you drop it off? It tastes better when it’s fresh.

Me: Girl, what?!? 🙄😏

Me this afternoon…

Growing up, I never asked for things.

I didn’t want to inconvenience people with my wanting.

I didn’t want people to give of themselves, spending their time or money on me because there were more pressing things.

Somehow judging my wants as unimportant or unworthy.

That’s something I’m unlearning.

As I pulled up to this school to deliver a freshly made sandwich, I told my husband, I am going to be like Z.

I am going to ask for what I want.
I am going to ask expecting it to be done.
I am going to ask expecting it to be delivered with delight and with love…
Just like I delivered this sandwich.

I LOVE that she trusted and believed in me enough to know that I *want* to give her what she wants.

God/The Universe works the same way, delightfully conspiring in our favor.

Our wants aren’t an inconvenience.
We can have what we want.
If we allow ourselves to ask.
And expect it to be done.

The Universe is abundant.

Putting my ASK into practice…

Last week, I stumbled upon a video of Steve Harvey encouraging us to make a list of 300 wants and then return to that list 365 days from the day we wrote it to see which of our wants have become our reality.

If you’re learning how to want, check out the video here and make your own list.
